Tasty treats
Kanelbullar - Tradition swedish cinnamon buns - one of my favorite fika foods! Recently, Johanna treated all of us Ekeby kids with homemade kanelbullars. I sugared them (even though she scrapes the sugar off... which is like eating a giant soft pretzel and taking the salt off)!
Doughy goodness, before the oven
Fresh from the oven
Beautifully displayed kanelbullars
And, the lovely ladies who ate 5 in one sitting!
Our Saturday night smörgåsbord (which is a Swedish word, by the way!)
Why does it seem like Nefeli and I are always the first to the table?
Waiting to eat! (Me, Sam, Maria, Zurine's friend, Zurine, Belen, George)
George, Josh, Anne, Nefeli, Me
Remember semlor from a previous post? Well, a semla is another traditional Swedish fika food... made with cream and marzipan. We've also made our own in Ekeby: see them here! They are typically eaten only in February, particularly on Tuesdays. So, we enjoyed a semla fika at home to celebrate the last Tuesday of February. I just hope that it wasn't really my last semla...

i never thought i'd actually admit to this, but you look a lot like me in the last picture.
