Valborg, part 2

After the mösspåtagningen, we headed for a nation for the Champagnegalopp, or Champagne race. Luckily, we didn't have to wait in line for too long before getting in. The champagne race at Västgöta was pretty crazy with people spraying everyone with tons of champagne - Swedes are typically said to be reserved, but they definitely are not shy when it comes to Valborg celebrations and champagne!
The evening was pretty mellow since we trekked back to Ekeby to have dinner and then headed to a choir concert at Uppsala's castle. Many people continued the party well into the next day, which was convenient since May 1 is a Swedish holiday!
Overall, my first Valborg in Uppsala was a great experience - a bit cold and windy, but lots of fun with good company! I only hope that I can come back another year to take part in the festivities again... and maybe then I'll have a white hat of my own to wear!
Hej då!
